Astros should have picked up Yuli Gurriel. The Braves got cash from KC for him. If the Astros picked Alemdys Diaz and Jason Hayward, they could have picked up Yuli who has done well in AAA and doing well with his start at KC.

I want to address the bullpen situation for the Astros. For me, the most important person we lost was Stanek, I realize he was a set up man, but he was an extraordinary set up man and Neris was also a set up man together those two were the stallworth oh the games we have won after being ahead after the sixth inning! Now Montero and Abreu were also parts about winning combination, but we all saw what happened to Montero and Abreu Has not performed up to his normal standards as a matter of fact, he is probably responsible for several losses? Now Ferguson so far he has been pretty good. I take nothing away from him and give him props for his performance so far.. now I do not understand why they sent king down to the space cowboy because I really like what king has done this year also Ort has done a good job well above average, now at this point, I am disappointed in Scott. He started well. but lately hasn’t been quite up to par.! Now Presley, what to say about him overall in my opinion, he has done OK however, the high leverage pitching at the back end of the Astros bullpen has not been settled and this is somewhat. I have a non-confidence item. Hader has been really good. I do believe however Presley is capable of being the number one closer but I have to consider that hater is a better closer but for some reason, Presley does not look comfortable as a set up man that is my take.

This is my latest take on the Astros, whom I am the biggest fan and love them! I have tried to overlook riding on the wall because sometimes I live with my heart with the Astros and not my head. It’s time to just simply come to realization. This is not a championship team. There’s no getting around. It tried to believe that they could be, but there’s too many pieces of the puzzle that are missing injured this that and the other, giving all the injuries and I am not trying to make excuses. They have put in players off of waivers in a desperate attempt to get some production out of their outfield. They have brought up several players from AAA and AAA. They are just not ready and the bullpen is suspect with a bay use light trouble but overall he’s done very well. We lost Montero. It’s just too many wounds too many Band-Aids to make this team a hole caliber team so I have resigned myself to the Pack. The Astros are an above average team and they have spurts of brilliance, and the pitching staff has worked wonders thanks be to our pitching coach big part of it!! and one of the big steaks in the heart to this 2024 Astro team the hitting cannot take a vacation for three or four games championship teams do not lose three or four games in a row several times or many times in a season and we just don’t have the bats you can’t expect AAA people and rejects that no other team wanted to make to fit in the puzzles of the missing pieces that are the Houston Astros. Go Stros!!!

This team plays down to its competition for some reason wouldn't be surprised if they lose both series to the As and Angels also it's frustrating as hell and I don't expect much from Tucker he's gonna be rusty and he sucks in the playoffs anyway but the playoff pedigree is there and any team in the American league can be beaten including the Astros if they don't get their shit together

I've gotten good about not reading fan comments after losses. I listen to you guys, but it's just too much to hear fans asking that people be traded or go back to wherever after a bad game. It is ridiculous. People need to learn how to be disappointed without lashing out. A baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint. We may or may not win the WS this year, but either way, in any of the seasons we went to the WS or the ALCS or both, and you look back on the regular season of that yr, there are three losses in a row everywhere. As bad as this game was on Arraghetti end, Jeremy Penas horrible defense did not help. There was 2 outs and he could have made that catch to limit the damage to 3 runs and get out of the inning. That’s a play you need to make. His errors are costing us games too.

Going into the last game with Reds, Astros only have 23 games left, so I don’t think it’s possible for us to go 18/5 with 13 games remaining against our division and 3 of those against the Mariners. We have 10 games left against non-division teams, 1 Reds tonight, 3 D-Backs 3 Padres and 3 Guardians. We don’t need to win 18 more games if Mariners and Rangers lose more than we do. Rangers are winning again, so it looks like it’s going to go down to the last 6 games of the season: 3 games against the Mariners and 3 games against the Guardians. It’s going to be a nail bitter again this season.

I haven’t seen the game or highlights yet, but my initial question is whether the Reds batter’s strategy against AirGetty was to be aggressive against him. This game will be used by scouts to prepare to face him post season. My concern is why our pitching coach wasn’t able to help him tweak his approach against the Reds by batter #4 in the first inning? I also feel Baggy is not a positive influence either in team management or announcing role. He never won a WS; he doesn’t have the karma to be a winner in any role with the Astros. Great guy.
